south of Villa Union take highway #40 east. The sign reads Durango/

for kilometer (km)202. See

to the left just after km 202. The road is found directly opposite two
quaint houses found on the curve just after km 202. Follow this road
for 4km (20 minutes) until you reach a large clearing. Here up to the
right you will see the cabins and safari tents
The Town
of Palmito is found continuing along highway #40 until you reach
km 200. Small supermarkets, restaurants, health clinic, church and simple
accommodations can be found here. Buses to and from Mazatlan and the
city of Durango stop here. Ask us for information.
For day trekkers who wish to
walk into the Tufted Jay Preserve from the highway follow the highway

as the Barranca Rancho Liebre). Continue down the path to La Ventana
a beautiful view point of the canyon. No camping allowed in this part
of the reserve only in the Mesa de los Alisos. A day users entrance
