General Information
• Unless prior arrangements
have been made guests must prepare and bring in all their food, and
drinking water. Campers and Safari tent guests must bring in cooking
utensils and cooking stoves.
• To date there is no electricity in the resort. Rechargeable
lamps are provided but it is always handy to bring a extra flashlight
• The town of Palmito has various small supermarkets where most
items can be found although it is a good idea to bring extra ice because
at times ice is not available
• There are no banks or gas stations in Palmito. Come prepared
• Camping is only allowed on the Mesa de Los Alisos. Elsewhere
in the park is not permitted
• A day user fee of $2usd is charged each person entering the
Preserve except for guests of the Tufted Jay Nature Resort
• Horse back riding and mountain biking is allowed only in certain
areas of the park. Absolutely not along the path that leads up to the
San Diego Canyon and down to La Ventana . This area is for nature walks
and bird watching only.
